Axair Climate's Datatech range of close control air conditioners from Blue Box, available in over 1000 possible configurations, combines a high degree of sensible cooling with precise control of temperature and humidity. As a result, these units are ideal for data centres, computer rooms and any other applications requiring close control of environmental conditions.

Designed to use a relatively small charge of refrigerant R410A, the Datatech range offers a high level of efficiency with the minimum carbon footprint, without compromising on performance. Optimised layout of components and the use of large surface areas for heat exchange and filtration combine to minimise pressure drops and, therefore, to reduce the power consumption of fans.

As standard, Datatech units use innovative EC energy efficient fans. These units are direct driven, complete with speed control to assist with energy savings and precise commissioning.

Other benefits of EC fan versions include significant improvements in energy efficiency with a reduction in power consumption of around 30% compared to AC motors.

The options include upflow and downflow units, direct expansion, chilled water with dual cooling and free cooling also available. A wide range of options are available including a variety of filtration grades, smoke and water detectors, along with flexible BMS connections.

The direct expansion version can be supplied with a thermostatic expansion valve, which offers a number of advantages. These include precise adjustment of refrigerant flow with a fast response to changing conditions, efficient operation at low ambient temperatures and constant superheating under variable load conditions.

The units occupy a minimum footprint and have been built with maintenance in mind.

A feature of Datatech's construction is the use of sandwich panels as standard. As well as maximising thermal and acoustic insulation, these panels ensure that insulating material never comes into contact with conditioned air, thus eliminating the risk of contamination with particles.

Integral control software provides very straightforward interfacing with all current building management systems (BMS). Datatech units can also be configured to work together in a modular configuration using local network communications. This arrangement allows management of several units in relation to peak loads and for simple expansion of the installed plant to meet future requirements.
