Axair Climate launches new Ability Matrix EC Fan Coil.

The new Ability Matrix EC Fan Coil reduces commissioning time and cost. With the development of the new generation EC/DC fan coil units the technology has been spurred on to exploit the potential of this new fan and motor technology by introducing the new Matrix fan coil which offers the opportunity to increase the speed and accuracy of fan coil volume commissioning whilst reducing the cost.

Unlike AC fan motors which have stepped fan speed adjustment, EC/DC fan motors are infinitely speed controlled by means of a simple and inexpensive potentiometer. This means that any EC unit can be set to give the exact total air volume required with individual ducts being balanced in the normal way with VCDs.

The new Matrix unit takes this one step further giving fan speed adjustment to each duct thus eliminating the need for the VCDs altogether.

The Matrix incorporates one fan speed adjuster for each fan within the fan coil unit. Each fan then pressurises one subdivision of the fan coil discharge plenum which in turn serves one duct run and grille. This means that the air volume to each grille can be balanced exactly and independently to the other grilles on the same fan coil units without the need for VCDs.
